Estes Taser Rocket

I have fond memories of the Taser because this was the first rocket I ever flew. It is a relatively easy rocket to build and I highly recommend that first-time rocket enthusiasts use this to get started. I bought the launcher set which included the launch pad and controller.

Build

Taser makes for the easiest build with all the plastic parts precut and painted. All you have to do is to put the pieces together and put the stickers on.

Launch

I used the B6-4 engine to launch the Taser. This was enough power to launch the rocket which is quite light.

The recommended engines: A8-3, B4-4, B6-4, B6-6, C6-5, C6-7

Recovery

The method of recovery of the Taser is the parachute. I had to fly this rocket twice. The first time I used the included 12-inch preassembled parachute that did not open completely and the rocket plummeted to the ground. The wadding paper also burned through the parachute. For my second attempt, (As my first parachute was destroyed) I bought a bigger parachute, 15-inch, and also added some extra wadding paper to protect the parachute. This launch lasted for 1 minute and 15 seconds.

Learn to fold a parachute correctly. This skill is critical to successful rocket recovery. Model rocketry is not just about blasting your rocket but also getting it back safely to the ground!
